Orašac is a small village only 12 km from the world famous city of Dubrovnik, listed since 1979 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and there are regular ship and bus services between the two.  Orašac, with its population of around 500, lies on the southwest flank of the Dinara Mountains at the foot of Vraćevo brdo (442 m).  From the sunny farmland one looks out over the azure Adriatic Sea towards the islands of Koločep, Lopud, und Šipan.
